Our client is looking for a detail-oriented, accurate, and organized Senior Tax Manager. The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, have an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks. A strong ability to take charge and meet tight deadlines will ensure your success in this multi-faceted role.
Responsibilities:
· Examine tax and information returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts, which have been prepared by both staff and senior staff using client accounting records and data.
· Evaluate a variety of engagement-related workpapers and other client documents associated with tax and information returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
· Examine additional tax compliance filings, such as 1099s, business licenses, personal property records, and more, that have been prepared by our staff and senior staff using client accounting records and information.
· Assess a range of intricate tax planning and projection projects.
· Evaluate diverse client inquiries for condensed accounting information and data.
· Conduct, analyze, and apply initial research in tax and accounting, demonstrating proficiency in the pertinent IRS Sections and Regulations.
· Spearhead assistance with diverse tax notices and audits issued by the IRS or state governments.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and engage in continuous education provided by the firm.
· Directly engage with clients on a range of subjects and services, leveraging technical expertise to interpret and apply laws, regulations, and standards to develop client-focused recommendations.
· Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
· Proficiency in tax preparation software and accounting and tax research solutions is advantageous.
· Take a leadership role or provide support in managing departmental and firm-wide administrative and oversight tasks, including project tracking, training initiatives, and client billing.
· Lead or participate in the evaluation of departmental training needs and topics, as well as the assessment of software utilization and related aspects.
· Proficiency in communication across various platforms, including email, IP-phone, and Zoom, and strong communication skills are essential.
· Capable of delivering on-the-job training and offering continuous feedback to staff and senior team members across various engagements.
· Possesses strong organizational skills to effectively supervise and manage multiple engagements in different stages simultaneously.
· Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Four-year college degree, and must hold a CPA license (a master's degree in a related field of study - MBA, MST, etc. - is a plus); and
· More than 10 consecutive years of public accounting experience.
Compensation & Benefit
Up to $220,000 base + bonus + profit sharing
