Position Summary
Operate a 10/c Flexographic Printing Press. Assist in machine set-up for orders if needed, troubleshoot machine when it is down or not performing to standard ensure quality production and maximum efficiencies, recommend improvements in production methods, and participate in team activities.
Basic Responsibilities
- Sets up machine to specifications outlined on the order
- Sets up machine to standard set-up time & procedure
- Operates machine to standard production target and waste target
- Troubleshoots machine when it is down or not performing to standard
- Assists maintenance with machine repairs and preventive maintenance
- Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Quality System.
- Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member
- Ensures work area is kept clean according to AIB standards
- Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met
- Provides direction to the production operator and crew members
- Drives continuous improvement activities
Specific Duties
- Performs inspections per Quality Procedure
- Cleans machine and area according to schedule
- Completes all required tracking forms (Job Plan, Shift Run Report, Quality Sheet, and checklists)
- Ensures materials are available for the next order & next shift
- Sets the example of safe operation by following established safety guidelines; Follows established safety guidelines; holds self and others accountable
- Initiates and supports improvement initiatives
- Handles, prepares, and transports hazardous waste to a 90-day storage area.
- Other duties as instructed by the Supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 1 year of experience in Flexographic printing
- Basic machine functions
- Reading, writing, and arithmetic
- Ability to measure with measuring tape
