GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION:

  • As an Assistant Controller, you will assist in all aspects of Accounting and Finance.
  • You will develop a system of financial controls and reporting for the entire project including monitoring and reporting of the project budget, monthly and year-end GAAP financial reports, and job costing.
  • You will also own the Bi-Weekly Payroll Function which includes gathering timesheets thru HH2 Software, Processing payroll through Paychex, Downloading and Transferring Payroll to Timberline (Our Construction Accounting Software), and Posting for 100 employees.
  • You will also manage the Accounts Receivable Process from monthly AIA Billing to Cash Receipts.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This individual will assist the Controller with activities related to the control and reporting for all construction processes, and interface with all divisions of the company.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the Month End and Year End Closings,
  • Assist in preparing month-end financial packages and schedules including Work in Process, etc.,
  • Assist in developing and managing Information Systems for the Accounting Department.
  • Assist the Controller in preparing Budgets, Cash Flows, and Financial reports required for the projects.
  • Assist in developing project projections and pro-formas.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5+ years job-related experience.
  • Sage 300 CRE experience is a must.
  • Experience in the preparation of projections and proformas
  • Ability to manage through conflict, complexity and to problem solve issues to resolution
  • Computer proficiency Financial Reporting (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of US income regulations
  • Ability to comfortably communicate, both verbally in presentation and conversation, and written in correspondence to the project team, vendors, consultants, prospects and partners.
  • Ability to adapt to change, establish relationships, and work in a team environment

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of Payroll.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION:

  • BS in Accounting.
