Overview
The Senior Field Service Rotator plays a key role in performing a range of maintenance activities, from fundamental to advanced, on gas compression systems. Responsibilities include assisting technicians with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, conducting repairs, and overseeing the installation and commissioning of both gas-fired and electric-driven compressor packages. This position is designed to develop expertise in complex maintenance, equipment installation, and full-scale overhauls with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the company professionally while delivering exceptional customer service that aligns with company values and objectives.
- Accurately complete and submit required reports, including field service documentation, expense logs, and timesheets, on a daily basis.
- Oversee and coordinate job activities to align with project goals and operational needs.
- Provide leadership and training for junior-level technicians and new team members.
- Independently diagnose and troubleshoot engine and compressor malfunctions efficiently and effectively.
- Offer input to supervisors regarding personnel and material requirements for optimal job planning.
- Lead and execute precise and timely overhauls or rebuilds of compressors, engines, and control systems in demanding field conditions without supervision.
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting of electrical components, control systems, and unit control panels, including Murphy, Altronic, and Allen Bradley systems.
- Perform high-level engine tuning to adjust performance and emissions for major OEMs such as CAT and Waukesha.
- Respond to and resolve ongoing issues, providing emergency repair services as required.
- Independently oversee and execute the installation of new units, including commissioning and start-up inspections, with complete accuracy.
- Utilize specialized tools such as micrometers, pressure gauges, and electronic diagnostic instruments to conduct mechanical inspections.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and effectively handle emergency repairs.
- Adhere to all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; advanced vocational or technical training preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Must hold certification from CAT, Waukesha, or equivalent in the following areas:
