Title: Systems Engineer
Overview:
Our client's Managed Services team is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with consulting skills to support customers in the greater Baltimore / Washington DC area.
The Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and implementing solutions, as well as providing ongoing operational support and advice for customers' information systems, with a focus on onsite requirements. This position requires excellent communication skills as it is client-facing and involves collaborating closely with other systems engineers and support desk staff under the direction of the head of the Managed Services team.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt and effective responses to technology support requests.
- Deliver high-quality support for Microsoft 365, desktop, server, and network-level issues.
- Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to clients and internal management.
- Configure LAN and WAN topologies, and manage server staging and deployment.
- Offer Tier 2 and Tier 3 support as needed.
Required Technical Skills
- Minimum of a two-year degree with an emphasis on information systems or technology management, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Five years of experience in technical customer support.
- Strong communication skills.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems and network troubleshooting.
- Extensive knowledge of workstation operating systems, applications, networks, networking technologies, and technology management tools.
- Expertise in Windows server and desktop operating systems, email systems, firewalls, and network security.
Pluses
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, VMware.
- Extensive experience with products from leading technology providers such as Microsoft, HP, Dell, SonicWall, Datto, and StorageCraft.
- Experience with managed services platforms like ConnectWise Automate, Kaseya.
- Vendor certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CSSA).
