The Oncology/Hematology (“HemOnc”) Clinical Chief in this role will be responsible for overseeing and leading the strategic direction and operations of the HemOnc service line. The role also involves coordinating and collaborating with various departments and stakeholders, developing treatment protocols, ensuring quality patient care, and driving initiatives for research, education, and clinical advancements.

Minimum Requirements of Position:

• Board Certified MD/DO
• Successful completion of an accredited medical oncology fellowship with at least five to seven years of clinical experience in an oncology practice setting, with demonstrated experience in a leadership role.
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Virginia.
• Certified by appropriate specialty board and/or possess specific training or other qualifications determined appropriate.
• Recent participation in the active clinical practice of his/her specialty/sub-specialty.
• Obtain and maintain clinical privileges at Augusta Health.
• Knowledge and experience in working with an academic oncology center.
• Demonstrated experience and leadership in developing or expanding research efforts and clinical research programs.
• Entrepreneurial leader with desire to create an excellent community-based, Hem/Onc practice.
• Outstanding oral and written communications skills, computer/software proficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with and among diverse people/groups/teams.
• Ability to work across institutional and professional practice boundaries to achieve change and results.
• Service orientation towards patients, providers, and staff.
• Ability to conceptualize, articulate and gain support for a wide range of clinical and clinical research initiatives.
• Proven administrative skills, including financial oversight and operations management, dependability, accountability, and responsibility.
• Proven leadership documented by career track trajectory and promotions history.
• And interpersonal communication skills.
