Summary:

The Regional Director is responsible for operational, practice, and business development in a geographic region. This position will collaborate with leadership across the organization to achieve his/her goals. A Regional Director will monitor and advise on all issues related to revenue and profitability. A Regional Director will also perform other professional services for the firm, such as Senior Practice Planner, Senior Project Manager, or Senior Engineer.

Essential Operational Functions:

 Manages project managers and staff to ensure that the production of design and contract drawings is produced in a timely and cost-effective manner.

 Ensures standards for product quality, equipment, and staff performance are maintained.

 Initiates recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to the office.

 Monitors, reports, makes recommendations, and implements solutions on operating costs within functional areas.

 Ensures contract documents are produced according to quality standards. Coordinates with QA on all issues related to project development

 Ensures regional staff and supervisors are adhering to company policy.

 Manages office and project budgets and controls expenses effectively.

 Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with human resources as appropriate.

Essential Practice and Business Development Functions:

 Manages project managers and staff to ensure that the production of design and contract drawings is produced in a timely and cost-effective manner.

 Understand the business of clients in the region, office, and practice and how it translates into design and our services.

 Provide leadership as to how the firm provides design and delivery expertise to clients in the market.

 Implement the firm brand in the specific region, office, and practice.

 Develop, recruit, and cultivate firm design and delivery expertise for the region, office, and practice, including mentoring future Associates and Principals.

 Work with firm leadership, including practice leaders and executive leaders to achieve annual revenue and profitability goals.

 Monitor performance against business plan and adjust as necessary to realize goals.

 Develop metrics to measure market performance and enhance business planning.

 Ensures all contracts and proposals are prepared according to office standards. Consult with the Director of Operations and Executive Director of Business Development as appropriate.
