ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Primary responsibility for sampling, testing and approval of finished products. Tests include but are not limited to sensory, pH, density, colorimetry, viscosity, gas chromatography, FTIR, moisture, and titrations. The QC Technician will prepare certificates of analysis and specification sheets.
  • Conduct product investigations when a non-conforming material is identified and execute material hold procedures when necessary.
  • The QC technician will also perform QC inspection on the production floor to ensure that procedures and GMP’s are being followed.
  • Perform opening and closing QC Lab functions – equipment verification/validation etc.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor of Science preferred, ideally in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or physics.
  • Recent college grads should have lab internship experience, ideally in food products.
  • 1-2 years of QC experience in food manufacturing expected, but not required. 3 to 5 years of QC experience is expected for candidates without a degree.
  • Reliable, predictable attendance is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Employee must have no food allergies. Employee must have ability to climb stairs and be on their feet for long periods of time. QC Techs cannot wear jewelry.
