Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a CMM Programmer to handle the development, maintenance, and generation of CMM programs to inspect and validate all PDI products against quality standards, specifications, and customer-specific drawings.

Scope of Work:

The CMM Programmer's role also involves CMM installations, upgrades, and maintenance coordination. Additionally, the programmer will drive activities to align with the client's productivity goals, while ensuring accurate inspection criteria through the evaluation of drawings and GD&T interpretations. Support for basic inspection tasks within the quality department is also part of their responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Employ standard gauges proficiently to ensure quality, selecting tools with the necessary accuracy to assess feature tolerances.
  • Navigate a complex environment with minimal supervision.
  • Review documentation for adherence to company standards, objectives, requirements, and contracts.
  • Configure Hexagon CMM for desired inspection criteria, overseeing upgrades, maintenance, and calibration activities for CMMs and associated equipment/tools.
  • Interpret and inspect per GD&T requirements as indicated in engineering drawings and notes.
  • Identify outdated or ambiguous internal GD&T and company-related documents, driving updates for closure.
  • Regularly contribute ideas for process enhancement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in CMM programming, preferably utilizing PC-DMIS software.
  • Offer technical expertise to swiftly resolve vendor quality-related issues.
  • Proficiency in aiding the design and development of quality gauges to enhance efficiency.
  • Competence in comprehending and interpreting drawing criteria, GD&T, notes, and tolerances.
  • Substantial experience in setting up CMMs or Romer arms, including swift reprogramming as necessary.
  • Capability to update SolidWorks models and convert files to facilitate CMM programming tasks.
  • Knowledgeable about Quality Management systems such as AS9100, with GD&T experience.
  • Ability to work independently while closely adhering to instructions.
  • Must exhibit flexibility as a collaborative team player, willing to support functions beyond Programming for a productive work environment.
  • Professional demeanor, displaying politeness and cooperation across departments.
