Job Description:
We are seeking an L3 Project/Systems Engineer who will provide operational support for multiple IT systems that enable the company's various functions. These systems include Windows Servers, Virtualization, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Storage, Backup & Recovery and Disaster Recovery, and Desktop Support among others. This position will work closely with the IT Operations team to support operations and the availability of IT systems. This position will be dynamic and require a person who can work in a team-oriented environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Oversee backup system management and administration of monitoring, alerting, and anti-virus systems.
- Monitor system performance and resource utilization.
- Assist in the deployment, documentation, and maintenance of IT systems.
- Investigate and troubleshoot escalated incidents.
- Have experience with Windows 7/10 and Mac operating systems; VMware experience is a plus.
- Possesses strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
- Setup, configure and add hardware such as scanners, printers, and IP phones.
- Support and maintain file/folder permissions, security groups, and file shares.
- Support cloud storage through the Egnyte Cloud Storage Platform.
- Manage mobile devices using Maas360 Mobile Device Management.
- Train employees and remediate software issues.
- Have experience with desktop imaging and image recovery.
- Understand Internet technologies (IP, DNS, SSL, LDAP).
- Be familiar with PowerShell and VB scripting.
- Understand Information Security concepts.
- Execute responsibilities with little direct supervision and lead technical discussions.
- Work with the VP of Technology to recommend products or services that best fit the organization’s needs.
SKILLS:
- Administer and manage Windows Server technologies, including Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
- Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain firewalls, switches, and other network appliances.
- Work proficiently with Linux systems, such as Ubuntu server, and be comfortable with the Linux command line.
- Know virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Manage enterprise IT hardware, including Intel server architecture, RAID, and uninterruptible power systems.
- Administer email services, including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, both verbal and written.
- Be self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to learn rapidly.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and a passion for delivering quality solutions.
EDUCATION:
- Have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on IT experience, supporting, servicing, and deploying computer hardware and IT components.
- Possess knowledge and experience with Active Directory, including users and computers, sites and services, OUs, GPO, AD login scripts, and other AD-specific concepts.
- Operate, configure, and administer services on Windows Servers.
- Understand IP, DHCP, and network routing.
