Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Refrigeration Coach to manage the ammonia refrigeration systems at the Division Street and Manufacturer Drive facilities, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
  • Adhere to ammonia refrigeration operational procedures to service and maintain all related equipment and components safely.
  • Assist in maintaining Process Safety Management (PSM) documentation and ensure adherence to all PSM and EPA (RMP) regulations.
  • Work weekends to service ammonia equipment while maintaining the production schedule.
  • Apply best practices in ammonia refrigeration as outlined by OSHA, EPA, IIAR, and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of industrial maintenance experience, with 2-5 years of hands-on experience in ammonia refrigeration equipment maintenance.
  • Expertise in pumping out, disassembling, repairing, and reassembling various refrigeration equipment while strictly following safety procedures.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing ammonia compressors.
  • Monitor and service condensers, including operation and chemistry.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and service for refrigeration pumps.
  • Perform troubleshooting, defrost, and repair of evaporators, including scrap surface, flooded, and direct expansion styles.
  • Service plate and frame chillers.
  • Record daily rounds on all refrigeration and utility systems.
  • Coordinate and oversee general repairs and capital projects performed by external contractors.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards, including GMP, OSHA, FDA, WDATCP, and USDA.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety and work regulations.
